A MEZZARIA A GALASSIA GUTENBERG SUNDAY 30 MARCH 2008 TO 1700 HOURS

February 28, 2008

[businessportal24] 'was formalised today the timetable for Galaxy Guntenberg 2008 and its presentation of "a mid" by the publishing house Boopen. As anticipated, the novel by Carmine Aceto will be presented officially to the press and public on the afternoon of Sunday, March 30, at approximately 17.00. On that you can entertain with the author that respond to the curiosity of people publishing and readers.

"I'm certainly surprised dall'apprezzamento and attention shown towards" mid "- said the author - but can only make me happy, especially the interest of readers. The unexpected invitation to present the novel in 2008 Gutenberg Galaxy is a moment of verification for me of how important the story I wrote and imagined, has come through certain channels little traditional, but no less effective, to the public.

Ubi Petrus ibi Ecclesia

February 28, 2008

From the site ZENIT:

"For the first time since 1929, L'Osservatore Romano also will be printed outside the Vatican. This was revealed its director, Giovanni Maria Vian, in an article appeared on the first page of this newspaper Wednesday. "We have always been a sore point for L'Osservatore Romano - one of its difficulties - is that of 'narrow its range of spreading', to use words that in 1961 the then Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini wrote for the centenary of the newspaper "Wrote Vian. To promote its wider dissemination says, from March 2 until the end of the newspaper will be distributed every Sunday with another important head of Catholic journalism, L'Eco di Bergamo.

If arrives here also, finally the compromise.

the Church of the Blessed Botta

February 27, 2008

This is the parish church dedicated to the Blessed Odorico, in my small town.

The site of the Diocese inform: "The project architect Mario Botta Lugano has interpreted the liturgical and pastoral needs today, as the desire of the city, which has recently become the capital of the province, to have structures, including religious, artistic value and architectural "(the ambiguity of that" as "it seems to me revealing).

It is known that the project was originally refused by a diocese Swiss: evidently, in the homeland of the Supreme Architect, had not liturgical and pastoral needs avvedute as ours. Nemo propheta at home, for precisely.

It seems that the parish priest, a task completed, has not fought just to get inginocchiatoi and stations of the Way of the Cross. But "are not provided for in the church of Botta, was the refusal of the Superintendence.

At this point, I would like to have a written copy of that refusal, to inquire about the presence of a "C" capital…

the three days of the Po reporter

February 27, 2008

I am not a great reader of fiction, let alone of contemporary fiction. Want to need, either out of habit, things I read are mostly classic texts or essays (the last two, just to give an idea of the degree of alienation, are this and this). In short, usually arriving at a maximum of Graham Greene or Flannery O'Connor, and not step beyond. It is my limit? Probably yes, but register with care all the exceptions to the rule: how this novel Valter Binaghi, who accompanies me since yesterday evening and that I find formidable (to cover part…). What speaks, the Faber explained very well here, and Carlo Gambescia here.

February 26, 2008

[businessportal24] "in mid", Polyphony of the doubt. Brief interview with Carmine Aceto. A novel magma, impetuous an eruption of existential tatters, a writing densissima: This is A mid. In a polyphonic narrative without center, aggrovigliano residues and combinations of human stories for radical immersion in a reality where the doubt sets the horizon of every experience, shaking rovinosamente contacts with things, with the otherness, with themselves . Each multiplies life full of pain, to reveal, without remission, the suspension of any possibility of understanding and judgement on the truth of life, or die.

In the story of lives squarci spread in time and space connect and are mirrored. Having to choose one life to explain the meaning of A mid as you propose? "Probably one of Arif. A man who understood in the history of others unknowingly and unwillingly. In a way unusual and incomprehensible, is reflected in its weakness to become a pilgrim outside time and space. live without deceit

February 22, 2008

A beautiful reflection of Hadrian Dell'Asta on Avvenire Today:

"In the last issue of the magazine" New Europe "(1, 2008), appears an interesting essay by Ljudmila Saraskina, scholar of literature, author of a monumental biography of Solzenicyn of impending exit in Russia. The essay recreates the story of the famous Living without appeal lies, that the Russian writer wanted was made public on February 13, 1974, the day of his arrest and then just before what became his expulsion, but that could also be a conviction harsh prison (if not already condemned to death as someone asked).

The appeal, the fate disinteressandosi staff of the author, his freedom and his own life, was the invocation of a fight without quarter against falsehood, "which is not registered with my help! … This is our way: no support under any circumstances knowingly falsehood. "

As well Saraskina, it was not proclaims a political, philosophical or religious, but appeal to "a thorough review of his life and his own conscience", was an invocation all'inquietudine of conscience. For Solzenicyn Indeed, the fundamental problem of a totalitarian regime like the one Soviet, even before the terror with which he had made millions of victims, was that of lies that had poisoned the soul and risked it disappears as a species Food, a lie onnipervasiva who had led a famous Soviet writer, the Nobel Prize Solochov, to say: "We write as we called the heart, but our heart belongs to the party."

The story of Solzenicyn and his fortune literary show the rest perfectly this centrality of the clash between truth and falsehood. When the magazine published Novyj Mir A day of Ivan Denisovic, the number went immediately steals, people are looking forward to it as a precious object, not understanding almost anything for fear of not being able to find it, as recalled Sergei Averincev, a of the largest Russian intellectuals of the twentieth century: "I'll never forget a man a little 'strampalato, who could not say the name of Novyj Mir and asked the giornalaia:' But yes, but yes, that where there is written the whole truth! '. And she understood that what was talking about his interlocutor. " It was another world that had the Soviet Union broke the post-Stalinism.

And yet another world were the reactions of world literary Journal, which attacked Solzenicyn even before the power to do so, with a verbal violence which authorized then the same power to the campaign which led the expulsion of the author uncomfortable. Solzenicyn was branded as a "class enemy", a "dangerous mental patient", "full of venom and contempt."

They could still continue long unless you were to remember that even in Italy the reactions of this kind were the majority and also characterized writers of value, not acted on fear, subordination policy, interest or whatever else will think of those who Solzenicyn called "a retore declamatore not worthless as a writer," an anonymous writer to which "a provincial correspondent writes better", but also think a substantial part of the world political, not a Communist or in some cases even anticommunist, that looked with annoyance dissent and the writers of dissent because they could disturb the process of what then was called détente.

It was really a clash of two worlds, which were not defined only by a geographical location or un'appartenenza politics and even from legitimate diversity assessment of the value of a work of art, as mentions the Saraskina the end of his article, even today , And even when the artistic value of Solzenicyn is no longer under discussion, the reactions to his work still have the same characteristic of a time: it seems to speak of two worlds and two different realities.

There seems to be so light a fundamental problem of the totalitarian system and deceit that forms the heart, a problem that has already been revealed in Russian literature of this century or even some commentators in the West (as Alain Besancon, for example ), But which has not yet reflected enough: the lie that Solzenicyn called for combat is not the classic one, whose mind knowing that lie.

We have here two words or two interpretations to say a single reality, and we have a word that says two realities: Solzenicyn says freedom of the artist that belongs exclusively to art and its irreducible mystery, Solochov speaks of freedom of the party to whom it belongs to the Schiavo made the heart of the artist. But then when we have different positions, the contrast is no longer between two interpretations, between two words, and the reality that contradicts my word or my judgement should not be reinterpreted, or discussed included, it should be simply deleted.

The terror here (or a certain exercise of power in democratic societies) is the corollary of lies: not mind to hide the terror, but terrifies to maintain the lie. Of course, in democratic societies, this does not become the power system and remains a mentality: a weak nihilism and well educated, but a nihilism unleashed and devoid of good manners will not make any effort to sweep away.

Solzenicyn called precisely to oppose this deceit, falsehood that the interpretation is more important than reality, the more important reality that we can expect to replace it and that we no longer verify whether the match and if not has created instead a new reality that no longer has anything to do with the good: it was said "labour camps correzionale" and, while men were dying there to millions, some, rather than simply as an instrument sopportarli unfair but "necessary" Them esaltavano as the paradise he was created the new socialist man. "
