Era preparatissimo, competente, visionario, certo. Ma più di tutto: sapeva parlare facile, anche quando di semplice non c’era proprio nulla: che si trattasse di dinosauri, di bit, di politica o di Valentino Rossi.
Della tecnologia apprezzava soprattutto il lato sociale, anzi umano, la sua capacità di mettere in relazione le persone, come quando per spiegare la forza di internet più che sigle o numeri usava la metafora del mercato africano dove si andava per far la spesa, ma soprattutto per comunicare, incontrarsi, condividere.
Fisico, poi giornalista e saggista ma anche insegnante e infine imprenditore. Eclettico e giramondo era però fermissimo nell’idea di non lasciare mai per troppo tempo l’amata Genova ei colleghi e gli amici della società editoriale che aveva fondato. Come ben sa chiunque abbia avuto modo di conoscerlo, era un uomo senza tempo.

Fare Mente locale, a Sarzana. Torna il festival della creatività

Nella vasta offerta dei festival italiani (diversi per tematiche, interessi, durata e sviluppi) c’è un appuntamento che mantiene alla sua quarta edizione una rara originalità: il Festival della Mente di Sarzana (La Spezia). Tre giorni dedicati alla creatività ea una riflessione sui processi creativi: non un festival dedicato a una singola disciplina o arte ma trasversale, in cui gli oratori non raccontano cosa fanno, ma come e perchè.

Il festival è stato ideato da Raffaele Cardone e da Giulia Cogoli (che seguono anche la direzione dell’evento), dopo un attento studio del panorama esistente non solo a livello nazionale, ma europeo e statunitense. “L’idea - spiega Giulia Cogoli- è raccontare il backstage della creatività attraverso un modo creativo. Questa è l’originalità di un Festival che tratta di economia, matematica, letteratura, medicina e di molto altro ancora, attraverso le testimonianze- spettacolo dei relatori.”

Ogni anno il festival offre tre giorni ricchi di incontri, quest’anno - da venerdì 31 agosto a domenica 2 settembre - saranno 48 tra workshop, conferenze e spettacoli: 40 dedicati agli adulti e 8 ai bambini. Non c’è un tema unico però ci sono tracce comuni.

“Si tratta di una sorta di specchio della società: si creano dei filoni di interesse per via di un comune sentire - racconta Giulia Cogoli -, e così quest’anno ci troveremo a parlare di genetismo e immigrazione, temi di grande attualità, ma attraverso punti di vista molto particolari”. I relatori sono antropologi, poeti, matematici, psicologi, economisti, ma qual è il vostro pubblico? “Un pubblico variegato e curioso, solo in parte locale - dice Raffaele Cardone - la gente arriva qui da tutta Italia per assistere agli incontri.”

E quali sono le novità di quest’anno? “Abbiamo sempre chiesto ai nostri ospiti di sviluppare incontri adatti a tutti . Quest’anno però, su indicazione proprio del pubblico, abbiamo organizzato dei laboratori a numero chiuso - spiega Raffaele Cardone - sette incontri di tre ore con un numero massimo di 250 persone.” “Per quanto riguarda gli ospiti - continua Giulia Cogoli - ogni anno invitiamo personaggi diversi e lavoriamo con loro per creare un incontro nuovo pensato proprio per questo festival. L’unico relatore già presente lo scorso anno è Piergiorgio Oddifreddi , che dopo il successo dei suoi incontri su Galileo, ritorna con un nuovo percorso su Einstein.”

In Italia, negli ultimi anni, c’è stato una vera e propria esplosione di festival. Non sono forse troppi? “Il fenomeno festival è in linea con il resto dell’Europa - spiega Raffaele Cardone - frutto di un bisogno culturale diffuso. Non ci sono troppi festival: in Inghilterra, per esempio, a parità di popolazione, i festival sono molto più numerosi. Non bisogna dimenticare la localizzazione e la storicità di ogni evento: festival simili non sono per forza in competizione. Tutto nasce da un bisogno di approfondimento del pubblico.”

Bisogno di cultura, eppure in Italia ( file pdf ) si legge poco, anche se si pubblica moltissimo. “In Italia si pubblica come negli altri Paesi - sostiene Raffaele Cardone - del gran numero di volumi stampati bisogna poi vedere quali sono in grado di vivere in libreria e di farsi leggere. Si legge poco, ma si legge sempre di più, e anche se non esistono studi a riguardo, la crescita dei lettori è direttamente proporzionale allo sviluppo proprio dei festival.”

Creare, una forma intelligente di riciclo

Che cos’è la creatività? Ecco la definizione che ne danno alcuni dei relatori della quarta edizione del Festival della Mente di Sarzana .

Marco Aime , antropologo: “Credo che in fondo la creatività stia nel dare una forma nuova a cose e idee che spesso già circolano. Dare loro una nuova voce, una luce diversa, uno sguardo che prima non avevano. Allora sembrano nuove e forse lo sono. Forse creare è una forma intelligente e alta di riciclo.”

Piergiorgio Odifreddi , matematico: “Creatività in matematica è gettare un ponte fra il mondo delle idee e il mondo delle cose, fra il pensiero e la realtà. È riuscire a mediare fra due estremi: la pura forma e il puro contenuto. È saper vincere una scommessa impossibile: quella di descrivere, con un linguaggio che l’evoluzione ha sviluppato per parlare di cose terrene, gli oggetti di un mondo alternativo costituito solo di idee immateriali. È sviluppare occhi della mente che duplichino quelli del corpo, e che siano in grado di vedere immagini consistenti, invece di allucinazioni da drogati, o deliri da paranoici sacri o profani.”

Ruggero Pierantoni si occupa di neuroscienze e di problemi cognitivi: “Attività mentale umana recentemente ri-creata in Italia per alleviare studenti, artisti, scrittori ecc dalla fatica di leggere libri, documentarsi e apprendere le norme elementari dei rispetti mestieri.”

Laura Bosio , scrittrice e consulente editoriale: “C’è un’euforia giustificata che si accompagna all’aggettivo creativo. Credo si spieghi con l’azzardo, la sfida, la scommessa, la scoperta a cui rimanda. La creatività sfugge alla previsione e al controllo ed è fonte di insicurezza, di dubbio, spesso di angoscia. L’antidoto è fare ricorso al mestiere, anche se non garantisce il risultato. Ma è un’illusione che cade appena si ricomincia, quando si constata che ogni volta si riparte da zero.”

Mario Botta , architetto: “La creatività, che si manifesta nella novità della trasformazione, è un bisogno primario per l’uomo, un modo per rispondere a nuove esigenze sulla scorta di elementi conosciuti; un modo per sentirsi uomo del proprio tempo e, contemporaneamente, ricollegarsi ai valori più profondi della storia.”

Aldo Cibic , designer: “Per me, la creatività nasce a partire dalle situazioni. Per situazioni intendo l’insieme delle relazioni (emotive, sociali, economiche) che si instaurano tra le persone, le attività ei luoghi. Muovendo dall’analisi delle situazioni, il designer può trasformare le condizioni iniziali di un luogo (sotto il profilo sociale, economico ambientale, architettonico, urbanistico) determinandone un evidente, tangibile, miglioramento.”

Marco Delogu , fotografo: “La creatività è quella strana magia che consente di esprimere un pensiero o un’emozione profonda e spesso incomunicabile, con un linguaggio preciso, asciutto e personale. Come l’estetica è un termine abusato: tolti gli abusi credo che il suo sinonimo più interessante sia libertà.”

Anna Oliverio Ferraris , psicologa e psicoterapeuta: “La creatività è un tratto complesso composto da almeno tre ingredienti: l’individuo con le sue potenzialità e abilità; il bagaglio di conoscenze, di cultura e di pratica che una persona o un gruppo di persone si è fatto negli anni formativi in cui vi era spazio per l’iniziativa, l’esploratività, la sperimentazione, l’approfondimento; l’ambiente, ossia quell’insieme di persone, istituzioni educative e culturali che forniscono stimoli, opportunità e apprendimenti e anche riconoscimenti che sono alla base di una società intellettualmente vivace, capace di offrire opportunità e aperta alle novità.”

Franco Marcoaldi , scrittore e poeta: “La creatività ha che fare con la ricerca di parole capaci di incarnare nell’immagine un’emozione, un pensiero, una sensazione, un ricordo. E di farlo trovando il giusto ritmo, perché la poesia – come diceva Pessoa – è canto senza musica.”

Giuseppe Barbera , professore di Colture Arboree: “La creatività in campagna dovrebbe tendere a scoprire nuovi modi e nuove forme del produrre: nuove tecniche, nuovi prodotti e non altro. Ma la cultura complica tutto e spinge a cercare e trovare anche in un campo coltivato l’etica el’estetica. I modi, gli obiettivi, le forme dell’agricoltura diventano infiniti nel paesaggio, a mostrare l’infinità capacità creativa dell’incontro tra storia e natura.”

Alessandro Barbero , professore di Storia Medievale e scrittore: “La creatività è la capacità di creare qualcosa pensando non al mercato o al pubblico, ma pensando soltanto a tirar fuori quel che ti preme dentro; e tuttavia di produrre un’opera che poi gli altri intorno a te riconoscono, anche se non è stata pensata per loro.”

Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet , psichiatra: “Nel passaggio dall’infanzia all’adultità, l’adolescente è costretto all’elaborazione del lutto che fa seguito alla morte delle illusioni infantili nei confronti dei genitori e del Sè. Ciò lo induce ad incrementare la propria capacità di simbolizzazione e ad assumersi la responsabilità di dare vita a nuovi oggetti d’amore ea nuovi Sè. Per evitare di rifare l’identico è costretto a creare il nuovo mondo.”

Severino Salvemini , economista: “La creatività è un interesse diffuso, quasi un dovere , in risposta ai bisogni emersi della grandi trasformazioni della società e della cultura, che hanno reso possibile il passaggio da sistemi chiusi e statici a sistemi più mobili e discontinui, dove pressante diventa il fabbisogno di cambiamento, della flessibilità, della capacità di far fronte ai problemi imprevisti, di prendere decisioni fuori dagli schemi, di offrire risposte nuove. Ecco perchè tutti devono essere creativi: l’artista come l’impiegato, il professore come il politico, il ristoratore come l’informatico.”

Giorgio Vigna , artista e designer: “Creatività è far vivere insieme mondi e modi che sembrano opposti o lontani e farli incontrare. Leggero e pesante, solido e liquido, trasparente e opaco. È trovare sintesi inattese che sembrano provenire da mondi fantastici e immaginari.”

Cinema italiano: solo 25 film su 544 recuperano i soldi ricevuti dallo Stato

Solo 25 film dei 544 finanziati sono riusciti a recuperare i soldi ricevuti dallo Stato. Il dato lo fornisce nel giorno dell’ inaugurazione della Mostra internazionale del cinema di Venezia Sherpatv.it, l’archivio multimediale delle istituzioni. Nel dossier vengono presi in esame i soldi del sostegno pubblico al cinema italiano nel periodo 1994-2005: fondi erogati e (solo parzialmente) rientrati nelle casse del Fus, il Fondo unico per lo spettacolo istituito nel 1985.
In questi 11 anni, lo Stato ha finanziato 544 lungometraggi (complessivamente per 61 case di produzione e 390 registi: da Olmi ad Antonioni, da Bellocchio a Citti e ai fratelli Taviani ma anche molti registi emergenti), per un totale di 817.160.164 euro di spesa. Solo una manciata di questi 544 film - molti dei quali mai arrivati nella sale cinematografiche - sono riusciti a recuperare i soldi ricevuti dallo Stato. Nel dossier disponibile su Internet , Sherpatv.it pubblica l’elenco completo di queste produzioni, documenti e link relativi alla normativa vigente in materia di finanziamento pubblico al cinema italiano e articoli di approfondimento sulla situazione in altri Paesi europei come Francia, Spagna e Gran Bretagna.
Tra i film che hanno ottenuto finanziamenti statali, Notte prima degli esami di Fausto Brizzi è il più virtuoso per quanto riguarda gli incassi (800 mila euro di finanziamento, 12.119.269 di incassi) - ammesso che questo sia il giusto criterio di giudizio - Oltre la giustizia di JJ Jusid il peggiore (995 euro di incasso a fronte di 352.224 euro di finanziamento).
